1966年、静岡県旧清水市(現静岡市清水区)で一家4人が殺害されたいわゆる「袴田事件」の再審＝裁判のやり直しをめぐり、静岡地方裁判所は9月12日に行われた弁護側、検察側との三者協議でやり直し裁判の初公判の日程の候補日を示し、早ければ10月27日にも開かれる可能性が出てきました。＜袴田弁護団　間光洋弁護士＞
「公判の日程の候補日について裁判所から提案があった。最短で10月の下旬に第1回公判ができるかもしれない。年内に最大5回程度、公判が開かれる可能性が出てきた」

＜袴田さんの姉ひで子さん(90)＞
「長い間の戦いでした。弁護士のみなさんにはご迷惑をおかけしました。57年だろうが、58年だろうが、もう終わると思うと本当にうれしい。いまからうれしくてしょうがない。完全に巖は無罪ですから。いい結果が出ることを期待しております」裁判所、検察、弁護団による非公開の打ち合わせ＝三者協議は５回目を迎えた9月12日、袴田巖さん(87)のやり直し裁判の初公判の日程について進展がありました。弁護団によりますと、12日の三者協議の中で静岡地裁は、やり直し裁判の初公判の日程の候補日を示し、早ければ10月27日にも開かれる可能性があるということです。年内で5回程度の公判を開きたいという意向も示されたということです。

袴田さんは1966年、旧清水市(現静岡市清水区)で一家4人が殺害された事件で死刑が言い渡されていましたが、2023年3月、東京高裁は犯人のものとされた「5点の衣類」について「ねつ造された可能性が高い」などとして、再審＝裁判のやり直しを決めました。しかし、検察は袴田さんの有罪を主張し、やり直し裁判の中で「5点の衣類」に関する法医学者の鑑定書など新たな証拠を提出する方針を示し、弁護団はこうした検察の主張は、これまでに十分審理された内容の蒸し返しだとして、静岡地裁に却下を求めていました。＜袴田弁護団　間光洋弁護士＞
「裁判所としては検察の有罪立証は許容することが前提。これに関して弁護団は納得できないが、公判の道筋が見えてきたので、裁判所の方針を受け入れざるを得ない」早ければ10月27日にも初公判を迎えるやり直し裁判は、検察が改めて袴田さんの有罪立証を主張する形で進められる見通しです。
